This is the first novel I have read by this author and I sincerely hope that she writes more in this genre. I could not put it down. I was drawn in from the first page.
Marianne is married to Simon, a successful surgeon. They have twin boys together and Simon’s daughter, Sophie, from his first marriage, also lives with them in a beautiful house, which is the envy of all around. There is nothing perfect about the present or the past.
Marianne becomes obsessed with Caroline, a work colleague of Simon’s, when he utters her name one morning. She has to find out if he is having an affair with her.
As the storyline progresses I was left wondering who was mad, who was sane and what was the real truth. I found the party scene was almost unbearable to read but amazingly clever and I picked up one or two of the twists as it progressed.
The ending was brilliant.
Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and Sue Watson for my ARC in return for my honest review.
Excellent, highly recommended.
